Dr Evan Chachos is an AHPRA-registered clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience across Australia, the United Kingdom, and Greece – in public health services, private practice, community organisations, research institutes, universities, industry, and schools.
He holds an undergraduate degree with Honours in Psychology and a master’s degree in clinical and health psychology from the University of Manchester, and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Monash University. His doctoral research examined how sleep patterns, circadian rhythms (the body’s internal clocks), and psychological factors affect mental health. He remains active in research and has been involved in several published journal articles.
Evan works with adults seeking support for everyday challenges such as stress, anxiety, sleep difficulties, anger, mood fluctuations, grief, life transitions, and relationship concerns. He has a special interest in working with people who have experienced traumatic events, as well as those exposed to critical incidents through their work, including correctional services personnel, emergency service workers, and military personnel. Evan is also fluent in Greek, and endeavours to maintain cultural awareness in his work.
Evan’s therapeutic approach is pragmatic, respectful, and collaborative. He uses the following evidence- based therapies to guide people through change using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and CBT for Insomnia (CBTi) and related tools, and prolonged exposure protocols. He is also accredited to provide Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.
Outside professional settings Evan primarily spends time engaging with pop culture and making music (often to the dismay of his family).
